Rough to Fairway Chain
20+ min Partner Golf Balls, Cones
Setup
Create three stations of increasing rough thickness leading toward a wide fairway marked by cones.
Drill Instructions
Player A hits from station 1 aiming the fairway; Player B from station 2, then A from station 3. A point is scored if all three balls finish in the fairway; miss resets the chain. First to 3 chains wins.
Goal
Complete three chains with at least 60% fairway finishes per attempt.
Make It Easier
Widen fairway and lighten rough at each station.
Coach Tip
Choose conservative targets; the goal is link consistency, not hero shots.
Make It Harder
Narrow fairway and add a carry requirement.
Avoid
Aiming at narrow corridors from heavy lies.
